Using the PPI™

The first step in using the PPI is to pilot or field test the tool. A field test will provide logistical and organizational information a MFI will need before deciding to integrate the PPI into its operations. Once an organization decided to implement the PPI throughout operations, the organization can apply lessons learned from the pilot process and fully integrate the use of the PPI within operations.

This section and supporting material (training guide, case studies, sample forms, etc.) is designed to guide an organization or MFI through the PPI piloting process. As organizations decide to use the PPI, and begin to integrate it, an instruction manual to addresses the specific operational context and resources of the organization can be adapted by its management staff.

ManualDownload the entire PPI Pilot Training Guide here or read through the highlighted portions below.

There are three phases of the PPI pilot:

  • Preparation and Planning
    - Develop an action plan
    - Set pilot objectives
    - Choose a sampling or selection strategy
    - Assess resources required
  • Conducting the Pilot
    - Set timeline and schedule
    - Train field staff
    - Determine intake methodology
    - Ensure quality control

For additional information and resources to guide the process please see the elements of the Training Toolkit below.
